: Tata Motors will Build Luxury Cars

India car manufacturer Tata Motors seems want to show their existence in the world automotive industry. If previously it snaps with universal cheapest car, Tata Nano, Tata Motors is now trying to prove they can also make a luxury car.

Tata Motors is currently preparing for the birth of a premium car that they give DR0 code and will soon enter production with a DR5 code.

This car is a saloon car that they develop a certain model, together with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and will be priced with a tag of U.S. $ 40,000 to U.S. $ 60,000.

BYD Ready to Acquire Maybach

China’s automotive industry is growing rapidly. This is evidenced by the fantastic car sales figures and make this bamboo country became the largest car market in the world.

China’s economic prowess also became more evident by taking over of the luxury car manufacturer from Sweden, Volvo by Geely car manufacturer China.

And expansion as just doing by Geely was not even going to stop. Because another China car maker, BYD was also reported will follow in the footsteps of Geely by take over already well known foreign brands. BYD is reported planning and interested to take over the brand of the Mercedes Maybach.

Earlier Mercedes said they would plan to slow and eventually stop the production of car used by the popes of Vatican. But when Daimler works with BYD to produce electric cars in China, BYD offers to take over Maybach brand.

“As soon as Daimler ready to leave a brand, BYD will reach out to buy it,” said a source in BYD as quoted from China car times, Monday (29/3/2010).

But this plan is not without challenges, because BYD itself until now better known as a producer of inexpensive cars rather than a luxury car manufacturer. This makes BYD will work hard if they want to continue to raise the name of Maybach in the global automotive industry markets.

BYD’s interest to take over the Maybach in hope that they will gain increased popularity of their names which will ultimately help their sales of electric cars in North America and Europe.

Geely Acquired Volvo: from Refrigerators to Car Manufacturer

Gothenberg – Geely Group, this China’s car producers initially only supplier of air conditioning components, but only in two decades, Geely has been transformed into one of the largest automobile manufacturer in China.

Based in Hangzhou, eastern Zhejiang Province, China, for the first time Geely launched the automotive manufacturing business in 1997, after previously founded in 1986 by Li Shufu.

And today, Geely is authorized to buy Volvo from Ford’s hand is an independent integrated automotive company with total assets of more than 14 billion yuan (U.S. $ 2 billion), with employment reaching 12 thousand people, including 1600 engineers.

Geneva Motor Show 2010: Ferrari’s First Hybrid Cars with F1 Technology

Geneva – The global automotive industry competition to produce environmentally friendly cars seem to drag a lot of parties to participate in order to make cars more greener. Not only ordinary car manufacturers, even exotic car manufacturers like Ferrari was also dragged the trend and showed their first hybrid car at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
