Review: Kia Cerato Forte

Kia Cerato Forte

Kia Cerato Forte

Overview

Designed by Peter Schreyer, the Forte exudes a more aggressive presence with its gaping black grille and strong creases that compliments the car’s overall shape.

Exterior

The gaping black grille in the front was to have been inspired by a roaring tiger’s mouth while a partially smoked front and tail lights add that to the aggressiveness. The lines that stretch the length of the car’s body and the chiseled fenders all lead to a clean and less distracting rear side. Clearly one of the better looking cars in the market.

Interior

The changes made in the interior come in the form of new better and a newly designed centre console. The instrument cluster, like the exterior is clean and is easily readable. With the new car being 30 mm longer, 40 mm wider and sitting 10mm lower, the Cerato Forte offers more space than the one it replaces. Boot space is at a respectable 415-Litres.

Under the hood

Even more powerful than some of its competitors, the base model 1.6-Litre petrol unit manages to produce 122 bhp at 6,300rpm. All that power is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that gets transferred to the front-two wheels.

Safety

Safety features come in the form of 2 airbags, an anti-lock brakes system (ABS) and automatic headlamps. Optional items are available for 4 more airbags, safety power windows, electro-chromic mirror and active .
