TOKYO – Mazda is finally launching a variant of the Mazda Premacy MPV or better known as the Mazda5. This seven passenger minivan prices in Japan, vary from 1.799 million yen to 2.314 million yen.

Like cited from the Mazda official website Thursday (01/07/2010), Mazda is targeting sales of 1,800 units per month. Mazda5 four-wheel-drive (4WD) Version will be available in August.

This minivan has become Mazda’s best selling products. Born since 1999 Mazda5 had 830 000 units sold out until May 2010.

With the new Mazda5, Mazda wants to prove eco-friendly system. By applying the unique features Mazda idling stop system, namely i-stop. This technology automatically stopped and turned on the engine so that more fuel efficient.

The result of this technology, Mazda5 2,000 cc engine issued only one liter of fuel for the 16 km journey. While for the Mazda5 sliding door version, the fuel consumption reaches 1:15.

Not only that, Swift plug-in hybrid, the Opel Flextreme GT / E, Bufori MKVI, Subaru Impreza XV, Juke Nissan, Renault Wind, Mazda5 until Mitsubishi ASX would be presented there.

2010 Geneva Motor Show opened to the public began on 4-14 March 2010 with 250 participants from 700 brands from 30 countries.

Because the large number of participants who participated as well as many new cars that will be issued to the Geneva Motor Show, the organizers believe that this exhibition will be visited by many visitors. The target to get 700 thousand visitors was predicted to be achieved.
