On 13-Apr-2010 taking on the infamous Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit at race speed with an electrically powered car is an ambitious project, but the BMW Group has just become the first car manufacturer to make it happen. The MINI E Race, a modified race-spec version of the standard MINI E, completed a lap of the legendary 20.8 km “Green Hell” in a time of 09:51.45 minutes. The MINI E Race hit a top speed of 187 km/h.

At the 2010 New York Auto Show, Hyundai will introduce to North America its all-new flagship, the 2011 Equus sedan. Hyundai plans to have the Equus compete with the best luxury sedans in the world on all levels including amenities, performance, advanced technologies, design and ownership experience. The model is expected to arrive at Hyundai dealerships late this summer.
The Equus stands to be a new flagship for Hyundai, slotting above the recently introduced Genesis.

[31-Mar-2010] At the New York Auto Show, Chevrolet revealed the compact 2011 Cruze Eco. This high-efficiency model is powered by a 1.4L Ecotec turbocharged engine with variable valve timing that achieves an estimated 40 mpg on the highway when combined with a six-speed manual transmission. Cruze models for the United States and Canada will be produced at the Lordstown, Ohio assembly complex. Chevrolet also showed an optional RS sport appearance package for the Cruze LT and LTZ trim levels.

Rolls Royce unveils a coupe version of the Phantom luxury sedan, 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show 2008. The coupe version of the Phantom comes two years after the unveiling of the 101EX Concept, unveiled in 2006. Production of 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe is beginning mid-year 2008 in the Goodwood plant.
The 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe is powered by a V12 of 6.75 liters of 453 bhp and 720 Nm of torque and has a fuel economy leader in the segment. An increase of 25% of fuel capacity, compared to the Drophead Coupe, adds a wide range of displacement. Agile, fast, comprehensive and virtually silent, the Phantom Coupe allows driver and passengers end rested after a long journey.
